This class is designed to help you construct a professional portfolio composed of multiple elements.  You will work on the various elements during the course and submit the completed portfolio at the end of Module 4. The portfolio will consist of (but is not limited to) the following:

1. A table of contents
2. A curriculum vitae
3. Exemplars of writing from graduate courses
4. A statement of criminal justice philosophy
5. Professional references
6. An executive summary
7. A 5-year plan for professional goals

Prepare a draft table of contents (TOC) for your portfolio. The TOC should be correctly formatted in Microsoft Word or a similar program.

APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.

JUS 652 Week 1 Proposal: Topic

Details:
Throughout the course , you will be preparing a 1,500-word research paper/written proposal focusing on how you will use your education to improve the criminal justice system at the federal, state, county, or city level.

1. In about 300 words total, present two possible topics for your proposal. Each topic should identify an area of the criminal justice system that you want to work to improve and include evidence of the need for improvement in the chosen area.
2. Prepare this assignment according to the APA guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.
3. Use the GCU e-Library to locate 3-5 sources that support your rationale.
4. Post your topics to the CLC Discussion Forum.
